![]() Reflect – Projectiles are not a problem!.Glass Cannon – Has lower health than other characters. You might have that boss pattern down but but you’ll need a dodge strategy for your own attacks too! Self Inflicted Danger – All attacks can harm her too.Mobility and Damage – All of attacks have extra mobility options built right in!.Maybe the Order has rebelled, and the Enchantress has to enforce her authority! The Enchantress’ story revolves around the frighteningly cold power she displays, and some more insight into her past. Cons: no sense of humor, seems sad sometimes.Pros: intelligence, magical prowess, healthy glow. With a loyal army under her command, she is more than a match for a solitary knight with a lowly shovel. Her Order of No Quarter carries out her will with ruthless might, although her origins remain shrouded in mystery. Cold, brilliant, and pulsing with vile power, the Enchantress is a preternatural force. Hah! Maybe we should put in a request for fish as an option? That'd be funny.Of all the monsters roaming Shovel Knight’s world, none are as dangerous as the Enchantress. Only on people who play it and can't handle such settings. Shovel Knight could also be an androgynous fish. And that could very well be either of what you described. You can only interpret the gender expressions you see in any way you like. Other than that the game itself never goes on about actual gender (except for 'catch her!' I guess). I think that plus the coming linux/mac thing has solidified my enthusiasm and secured my purchase. I didn't know that was a planned feature, so that's cool. The default will however stay the way it is - simply because that's the artistic vision of the developers and what far too many people backed with a lot of money.Īh, fair enough. (I've heard they want to allow the player to select the gender expression of each character individually in that mode - so you can mix and match however you feel comfy) Originally posted by YinYin:Well, the gender swap mode will probably allow you to do all that. I'm happy to listen to counter arguments, but please be civil, and it's sad that I actually need to say this, and sadder that some people still won't listen.) (I'm hoping to have a calm discussion, so if you feel the urge to tap that caps key and ignore the full-stop you should probably talk to me in private or just keep it to yourself. Perhaps default the characters female shovel knight and male shield knight, but allow the player to change that? Is there some important thing I'm missing that would ruin the game if shield knight happened to be female? I certainly would relate to the characters more in either of the given arrangements, but I'm sure there'd be some minority of fussy people upset if they were "forced" to play a woman or a gay person, even though women and gay people are "forced" to play men and striaght people all the time.Īnyone care to weigh in on the pros and cons of any particular arrangement? If not homosexual, then the lead should be female and the assistant male as this would be yet another rare arrangement in gaming that, again, has no bearing on the gameplay at all, much like Samus Aran being female. ![]() If you notice, in Rogue Legacy one of the traits you can have in a character is "gay" and it has absolutely no bearing on gameplay in any way, which was totally awesome. You're straight by default in soooo many games that it'd be nice to have that one little win, even though it has literally no bearing on the game. Eh, I would appreciate the characters being homosexual by default.
